Just a quick blog post tonight to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas!!!!
I do hope it brings you everything you and that you are surrounded by your loved ones, and for those that can't be for whatever reason, I hope you are somewhere warm and safe :)
Anyway I wanted to find some festive pictures to put in here, but I honestly don't have any yet... however I've taken my camera to my parents so expect lots of Christmas bokeh shots to pop up from me next week ;)
In the meantime I've slipped in some old painting with light stuff from last Christmas, and with the help of a few friends we managed to make it happen :)
Still makes me chuckle to check out these pics, I'll be doing some more soon hopefully :)
Again have a fantastic Christmas break, rest easy, eat loads of food and junk and enjoy doing nothing! All the best!
Right on that note, I'm going to enjoy doing nothing for a couple of days too, I'll be back though next week with even more great things planned for 2011 :D

A few flowers...
I don't always shoot automotive stuff, obviously that is where my passion lies, but all types of photography rock!
Also the fact that my area of the UK has been hit by quite a bit of a snow recently so all vibrant colours in the garden have mostly been blanketed in white layer... so I thought some colour would help lift those winter blues :)
So with that in mind and with my most manly of voices... here are some flowers ;)
All of these pictures are of flowers from my Grandparents garden, and some were taken at different times to others, however they were all done a few years ago... reminds me I need to do some more stuff like this!
An off camera flash, Canon 430EX was used for a lot of these, usually high up to the left or right, the effect it rewarded me with was petals that seemed almost transparent, a pretty cool outcome I thought :)
The photos vary quite wildly in their post processing, from some which have received almost nothing, to others which have had colour change or selective colouring with wild changes to colour temperature and contrast settings.
A few of these were actually at first written off by myself as rubbish attempts at capturing the flowers how I wanted to, but I have recently revisited a lot of them and found that with new techniques I can get them to how I wanted them to look all along :)
Hopefully I will get round to doing some more up to date flower photos as 2011 develops, especially now as I have a Macro lens, we'll see what happens :)
Thanks for looking!
Getting some attention...
It would seem that people on Flickr are liking my flower pics :D
Yesterday this photo received 388 views :S actually pretty awesome :)
Climbing rapidly today....
Maybe car photography isn't where I should be focusing on hehe :P

A shoot of the Orange MR2
Yesterday I went over how this car became what it is now, how it was resprayed and so on to achieve this end result.
So I thought I would now share with you a little shoot I did last Summer of the car.
The surrounding area where I live has some incredible back roads, with some beautiful scenery that would make you think you were in the deepest country side, so I took the car to a spot I had found a few weeks before....
At this point the car had received a few more modifications, for example the interior had been fully re trimmed to suit the exterior look of the car.
The re trim was done by Rogue Systems the MR2 specialist, and still looks fantastic to this day, really sets the car apart from others.
The car had also received some pretty cool advertising stickers for my brothers company Mark On Europe.
I was loving the use of selective colouring back when I did this shoot, so I'll end this with two more pictures in the same style!
These pictures were done a good year or so ago, but I absolutely love them still, and hopefully will organise another shoot of this fantastic looking MR2 sometime soon!

The story about an MR2...
I'd like to talk you through the life of an MR2, once owned by my mum, and now driven by my younger brother.
The pictures included in this blog have been collected together by myself, and my two brothers over the years, so a re cap of this cars story I feel is needed to bring it all together :)
The car in question is a Mk2 Mr2 Rev2 2.0 N/A automatic, yep that's quite a model description, so maybe a picture would explain better....

So anyway as you can see this car started off looking pretty plain, dated and actually more pink than red from most angles.
So the idea was to make it something a bit different, make it stand out and live a few more proud years as a classic Japanese sports car.
So the idea came along to spray it, the Ford Focus ST had only just come out at this time, so an Orange similar to the one almost synonymous with that car was chosen...
Off to the spray shop!
After a week or so, and a fantastic job done by Armstrongs in Swindon, the car was finished and gleaming in its new coat of paint!
So the paint was looking great, and the car really stood out! But the opinion was that the standard wheels were letting it down now, so a new set was sourced!
Some Volk Rays turned up on the forums, and they were in quite a state...
A refurbished was needed on these before they could put on, so the colour scheme was chosen, a black with gold flake look... different and impressive looking :)
Then once fitted, the MR2 was restored :)
A fantastic looking car with many hundreds of miles under its belt since this overhaul happened a good few years ago, its attended shows, and even been magazine featured in Mr2Only magazine! Awesome car :)
I'm going to end this story for now with a few pictures of the final result taken by my brother Gavin Fegent :)
More to follow on this car tomorrow....

Forza 4 Trailer
Bit late on this one I'm afraid, as it has been out for a bout a week :S however I has to put it up on here because I am really really looking forward to the next release of this awesome series :D
Also the video is brilliant, and shows that they have really stepped up to the challenge laid out by other driving games recently ;)
Lets hope it plays as good as this teaser would have us think it will, I have no doubt it will :D

The Caterham 7 @ The Nurburgring
A long time back, right near the start of this blog I shared with you all some videos of the Mark On Europe Caterham 7 Road Sport 175.
An absolute monster of a car and even more incredible when you think that you can actually rent it out for a day of fun yourselves ;) Details are all on the Mark On Europe site here.
Anyway this blog post isn't about advertising, this is about showing off great editing and footage! I am therefore very happy to be able to share with you some more work by the excellent film maker Chris Smith, who on a holiday with a few friends in one of my dads motorhomes and with the Caterham on a trailer behind put together some fantastic short films showing off the entire package!
I especially love the excitement and genuine fear portrayed in that of the Nurburgring footage that he put together, enjoy!
Pure awesome :D and I can't think of a better song to go with it either hehe, Top Gun soundtrack rocks!
Here is another video by Chris, which shows off their motorhome, could be of interest to people, and its really well put together so anyway enjoy!
I heard he could be putting together something about a trip he recently did to Spa-Francorchamps with the same package ;) so will blog that once its available!

Two driving machines...
Thought I would step back in time a year or so, to a little photo shoot I did at the back of some old barns, of what I believe are two classic drivers cars, cars that provide you with so much feedback you feel as if they will do exactly what they are told and you trust their handling characteristics completely...
These two cars are extremely different in many ways, but they have a lot more in common once you've experience them both fully.
So first off we have my old DC2 Integra Type R, considered to be one of the best FWD cars ever made.
A an extremely raw car, with a fantastic power band that truly excites with a torrent of noise and speed when driven hard.
The handling on this incredible car is also predictable, and I found it drove with more poise and better handling at faster speeds, always encouraging you to take a bend that little bit faster next time... quite something :)
There truly is a wave of noise and a tremendous increase in pace once VTEC has kicked in at 5.8k Rpm, with the red line coming in around 8.5/9k!
The tremendous support provided by the striking red Recaro seats in my old one made you feel all the more comfortable driving it as it should be driven!
Anyway I best tell you about the other car that attended this little shoot of mine.
What possibly could compare to the best fwd drivers car ever??? Well its a RWD two seater... hear me out though as they have more in common than you may first think.
So the car in question is a Caterham 7, a Roadsport 175bhp model to be exact, with an extremely powerful and torquey 2.0 Ford Mondeo engine.
The handling feel that a Caterham offers is amazing, you literally feel connected to the road!
The noise when the car is at wide open throttle is also incredible! It will stir the most sobre of people, and infuse energy and life into anyway! I defy you not to be impressed by what that car can do!
Ok so one is a 4 seater, fwd, with air con and a radio... the other is a 2 seater rwd roadster with no air con... hey you should count yourself lucky you've got a heater in it ;)
So what have they got in common?
Well both offer a true drivers experience, a true feeling of being one with the car!
You get the noise, of which both can produce amply, and you get that fantastic feeling of actually being in control of a car and not the car being in control of you, either one is amazing, and yes one will suit someone more than another, I mean I couldn't live with a Caterham 24/7 but I didn't always enjoy living with my DC2 24/7 either.
Both are fantastic machines at what they do, and that is pure driving enjoyment!
The pictures as I mentioned were done at the back of an old barn and the lighting was with the help of 2 hand held strobes fired using ebay triggers.
